Chinese Year of the Water Snake 2013 Forecast

29 December 2012

How the natural forces of the universe affect the energies of the year is a fascinating subject called forecasting and refers to our Heaven Luck. I prefer the term forecast rather than prediction as I consider it more accurate and it also creates more psychological space to harness our Human Luck in order to better weather the forecast whereas prediction somehow sounds too final. We are never meant to feel victimized by the forecasts as this creates self-fulfilling prophecies, however, if we are forewarned we are forearmed and can fine-tune our strategies.

Each person is born in a year within the 12 Celestial Animal Cycle and express some character traits and energetics of the particular animal. Of course, no one wants to be the Pig, Dog or Rat but prefer to be the Tiger or the Dragon! The full Chinese Horoscope is based on more complex formulae involving your Year, Month, Day and Hour of birth, however, the below represent a very general outlook for each Chinese Animal sign and are meant to help you weaken or avoid bad luck, and increase your alignment to the good luck. Please do understand that both your individual detailed horoscope and the Feng Shui of your home or office will greatly contribute to how you combine with the energies and if you want to engage at a deeper level then consider having your full horoscope ‘opened’ or a full professional Feng Shui consultation.  DIY horoscopes or Feng Shui are not recommended!

Wishing you a peaceful, healthy and prosperous 2013 Year of the Water Snake!

General overview of the Year of the Water Snake

The mixed quality of the previous year will carry over this year, bringing more questioning and revision of purpose. Those who heeded this energy last year to refine their vision will set forth into 2013 with great focus and momentum. The Water energy of the year clashes to the Fire Element of the Snake, meaning that there could be some strange weather and possibly also some conflict especially in marriages or regarding male/female issues. The Snake will keep us attuned to the earth more than in previous years, as this reptile moves along the ground and through water with its soft belly, so it picks up the vibrations of the environment very easily. It is an excellent year to start learning the Art of Feng Shui as this is a science of understanding environmental energy. CLICK HERE FOR OUR COURSES INFORMATION

The Ba Zi Chinese Horoscope of the year remains weak like last year, with fire and wood as supporting elements. Happily though the fire and wood in the South and East Feng Shui directions is very strong, so the horoscope is supported to some degree. There is little benefit in the East and West in terms of lucky stars though. The majority of the good chi is in the North and South. If looking for romance then going on trips to the South can be very good for finding a lover or romantic partner.

How to work out your Chinese Animal sign?
For those of you born from in the months of January to November you take the year of your birth from the lists below, however, if you are born around the Winter Solstice i.e.. between 20 Dec to 31 Dec then you will belong to the following year for example, someone born on 26th December 2009 might think they are an Ox but in fact the energy of the year has renewed at Winter Solstice and now become the Tiger i.e.. 2010.  You do not work out from the Spring Festival dates in February as this is inaccurate.

Rat  1912, 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008, 2020, 2032, 2044
The Rat will enjoy another fortunate year as they have double Big Fortune and the auspicious power of the Magnificent Crown. The Rat will be advised to work very creatively this year and not rest on their laurels, because they really need to make all this good energy be productive otherwise they could find themselves running around multi-tasking and dispersing their energy and achieving very little.  Care should be taken that they do not work too hard though as this could stress their bladder/kidneys, so they will need to take regular holidays and long weekends. If they are an early riser then the morning time of the Rabbit from 5am to 7am will be the most productive for them. The Rat also needs to be laser focused to stick to their true career or vocation this year, and not get too diverted by copycat career (things to just make money).

Ox 1913, 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009, 2021, 2033, 2045
The Ox will experience some sense of being stuck this year as there is excess earth energy in the NE direction which is home to the Ox. They also have the Year Crashing energy and the Devil Star which could bring legal arguments, lost energy or robbery. The Ox needs to take care not to fall into any traps this year, either metaphorically or literally, so avoid potholing or climbing. They would be advised to have a Feng Shui consultation to make sure the Feng Shui of their home and office is as best as it can be and try to reduce the negative influence of the time.

Tiger 1914, 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010, 2022, 2034, 2046
If the Tiger can crush the stuck earth energy by keeping their momentum going this year then they should enjoy an improved year for finances. I would advise the Tiger to increase aerobic exercise this year to decrease any physical, bodily (earth) stagnation.
The Tigers born in 1962, 1938 or 1998 need to avoid going to funerals or hospitals this year and if they must, then they are to turn their back as the coffin goes into the ground (or the coffin goes into the cremation furnace). The Devil Star is affecting them so they will need to be careful about their alliances otherwise they could lose energy easily this year.

Rabbit 1915, 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011, 2023, 2036, 2047
The Rabbit could be stubborn this year and find it hard to listen or form any agreements with people. They have the powerful auspicious star the Throne, so they could be a little imperious in their manner especially as they have so much Water support. There is some caution though as they carry the Disaster star, so need to be careful of rash physical activity such as driving too fast or taking unnecessary risks in their exuberance.

Dragon 1916, 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012, 2024, 2036, 2048
The Dragon will have a mixed year as they are in quite a weak position with the Heaven Hook portent. They should definitely avoid any activity involving hooks, like bungee jumping and trapeze or even polo and hockey as they could get badly injured.  Dragon like animals (such as lizards and commodore dragons) could have big problems this year. The last six months of the Snake should be improved for the Dragon.

Snake 1917, 1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013, 2025, 2037, 2049
The Snake is the leader of the year (the T’ai Soi) and is blessed with the Golden Box star so they could see an improved financial situation. However, sometimes the leader energy can be too strong and difficult to manage unless you are more consciously using the knowledge and have supportive Feng Shui in your environment. The Snakes born in 1929 or 1989 need to avoid going to funerals or hospitals this year and if they must, then they are to turn their back as the coffin goes into the ground (or the coffin goes into the cremation furnace).

Horse  1918, 1930, 1942, 1954,1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014, 2026, 2038, 2050
Big Fortune and Small Fortune surround the horse this year and the fire energy is very strong, so they should have a smooth year, especially in regards to relationships with the double Plum Flower star in this direction. The Horse also benefits from the protection and authority of the General star and nearby Merit Official, so they would do well to aim for a promotion this year.

Sheep/Goat  1919, 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015, 2027, 2039, 2051
The sheep is best advised to look after their health this year as they are affected by the 2 Black Star. The SW direction is not supportive of them at all, so they should avoid having a bedroom here and also avoid the NE too. In general they would be better in the Northwest, but do check with us for a full Feng Shui reading to give more bespoke advice.

Monkey 1920, 1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004, 2016, 2028, 2040, 2052
The Year of the Snake is a good ally for the Monkey, especially those needing more Metal in the Ba Zi Chinese Horoscope chart. However there is a lot of sickness afflicting the SW, home of the Monkey, so I would advise moving bedroom or office to the Northwest, especially if you are female. This is not a strong year for marriage, starting a new job or overseas holiday. The Monkeys born in 1931 and 1991 need to avoid going to funerals or hospitals this year and if they must, then they are to turn their back as the coffin goes into the ground (or the coffin goes into the cremation furnace).

Rooster  1921, 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017, 2029, 2041, 2053
Metal energy is strong in the West so the Rooster should enjoy a boost in energy this year and they will need it as the negative stars outnumber the positive ones. They need to avoid going to hot countries or too much time around an open fire or sunbathing as this will align them with some of the difficult energy. The inauspicious fire energy could cause problems with money for the rooster, so take your holidays in cooler climes.  Avoid investing in metals this year unless you have the time to watch them very closely and the skill to benefit from the market movements.

Dog 1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018, 2030, 2042, 2054
Good stars outweigh the negative stars in the NW, direction of the Dog. The Dog has the Small Fortune star, so could see small windfalls or small lottery wins especially if they work hard and use their creativity to keep the energy moving. However it is under influence of Celestial Curse so would be advised to keep air travel to a minimum. The last six months of the year will be more beneficial for the Dog.

Pig/Boar 1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019, 2031, 2043

The Pig is opposed to the Snake leader of the year, so you need to wear red thread around your waist and invest in a protective jade charm – consult us to select a suitable jade charm for your unique horoscope. Depending on your type of Ba Zi chart (Eight Characters or Four Pillars) this year could bring the best out in you or see you thwarted and weakened. If you can overcome the challenges of this year then you could make good financial gains as you are close to the Big and Small Fortune stars. In general though you might be better off taking a stock and doing ‘housekeeping’ type activities this year that depend more on your own efforts rather than heaven luck.  Don’t attempt anything too ambitious this year unless partnered with people of other animal signs in a “good fate”
The Pigs born in 1947, 1971, 2007 need to avoid going to funerals or hospitals this year and if they must, then they are to turn their back as the coffin goes into the ground (or the coffin goes into the cremation furnace).
