With the onset of Autumn in the Northern Hemisphere, the chi is starting to contract and condense, and it is a great time for organisation and elimination. Autumn is associated with the Metal Element in Feng Shui and the metal element is linked to the organs of the skin, large intestine and lungs.
We all need a little objective help sometimes. Reading books on interior design, endless amounts of self-help websites, books on Feng Shui, colour therapy ideas etc. it can all get a bit much. This is why I now offer the chance to speak with me in person on a Feng Shui Starter Session that gives you more than a simple Discovery Call can, because I ask you to send me a floor plan and a postcode and I can give you my first thoughts on your home.
House hunting can be very stressful, especially in London, where the market moves very quickly and is very competitive. I have to act very swiftly and do my best to fit in quick trips to properties to take vital Feng Shui compass measurements and 'sense the chi', that is impossible remotely. Even with excellent photos of a property online listings can be misleading and several times I have come across floorpans that are incorrect and even have the wrong North orientation on them!
Lighting is so important in our lives and I am so pleased to see that lighting companies are really evolving in their understanding of how light impacts the human being and they are modifying their bulbs and systems to be much more responsive to human needs.
It is not that obvious to many, but Feng Shui is as much about timing as it is about the layout of space. WHEN you take action and implement my advice is just as important as HOW and WHERE in the home or office. When you consider that nature has its regular cycles, and that Feng Shui is all about the dynamics of nature, then it is no surprise that ENERGY or 'chi'/ 'life force' / 'prana' also has its time cycles.
It was an unexpected request from a lovely lady in Wimbledon, when she asked me about a feng shui position for her recently acquired terracotta warrior from Xian in China. When I arrived at the property earlier this year in July, this replica of the original warriors was placed in front of the house facing a little away from the home and not in the best feng shui position. After familiarising myself with the house layout and the garden layout and measuring the site of the home (otherwise known as the back) I started to have some good inklings about where this chappie might belong. I had to take into consideration lawn space, trampoline space, visual appeal etc. as well as my 'sensing the chi' aspect.
I am very pleased to announce a joint venture with Stephen Henderson, a wonderful friend of mine who creates beautiful photographic artwork with magical elemental resonance. I first met Stephen when randomly guided to Sedona in August 2012. I was very lucky to experience the beautiful Celtic Medicine Circle
Does this time of year freak you out a little? Do you feel grateful for the year just past by? Or do you feel secretly afraid that if you don't 'get it right this time' then another year will see your initial hopes and dreams die? Do you listen to knowledge outside of yourself and then regret it? Do you get attracted to mentoring programs then find that they simply cannot provide bespoke enough advice and don't really teach you more than you already know?
In the Northern hemisphere we are hunkering down in good old British style, coats all buttoned up, hoods and collars grasped close as we head out into the chill winds on these short days that are getting darker and darker. Many people have a physical reaction to the reduction in light called SAD or Seasonal Affective Disorder, which can give rise to feelings of depression and despair simply because the body is not receiving enough daylight. Modern research shows increasingly how we have a relationship between our body and light via the transfer of biophotons - "indeed, the human body emits biophotons, also known as ultraweak photon emissions (UPE), with a visibility 1,000 times lower than the sensitivity of our naked eye. While not visible to us, these particles of light (or waves, depending on how you are measuring them) are part of the visible electromagnetic spectrum (380-780 nm) and are detectable via sophisticated modern instrumentation." ,
I do love a good testimonial! Its great to catch up with clients now and then! So many wonderful things can happen in their lives, and I might not always know about it! I heard from the lovely Sally a few months ago and she offered to write me this wonderful testimonial outlining the process we went through together to find her the perfect home!
