ECO CAFÉ CONCEPT – SAUDI ARABIA

ARCHITECTURE, WELLNESS, CONCEPT DESIGN

Commissioned by a Saudi Arabian natural health practitioner, I developed concept designs for a Feng Shui-informed Eco Café intended as the prototype for a healthy fast-food chain across the Middle East.

The design explored how spatial atmosphere, natural elements and nutritional philosophy could work together to create an uplifting dining environment. Water features, including a central fish tank, were incorporated not only in accordance with Feng Shui principles but also to evoke the imagery of an oasis — a place of refreshment and vitality within an urban setting.

The interior concept included relaxed seating areas with lower tables and poufs to encourage a more informal, sociable style of dining. Live greenery was integrated throughout the space to improve air quality and create a calm, restorative atmosphere where guests might naturally linger.

Artwork inspired by the visionary paintings of Alex Grey was proposed to subtly reference themes of life force and vitality, reflecting the client’s mission to help people enhance their energy and wellbeing through better nutrition.

Although the wider venture ultimately did not proceed to construction, the concept anticipated many of the ideas that later became central to wellness-oriented hospitality design.
